Labor Day 2016

Since last year,we all decided that we will get together every Labor Day.  This year, our meet up was in Chicago where our host lives.  It was nice for us because we've never been to Chicago so we did a bit of exploring.  We did the Architectural boat tour and learned some interesting facts about buildings along the Chicago River.
Photos below are from our River cruise.  We went to Eataly and tasted some sweet Italian wines.  We saw a baseball game at Wrigley Field, got some famous Chicago style pizza and I think what I like the best was when we sat down at the River walk with cocktails and watched people and boats passing by.

Eataly is a Little Italian village in an enclosure like the one you see in city's downtown.

We didn't eat anything from here but I am sure food is delicious.  We did have a glass of sweet wine for me and hubby.

We were sitting in their famous fan bleacher seats.  Giants vs. Cubs

Labor Day Weekend

SEPT 1, 2018-   White Water Rafting in Ohiopyle, PA For the last couple years we participated with my husband's family in their Labor Day weekend get together.  Each year we take turns to give and recieve mementos.  For 2018 it was our turn to give  and we customised coffee mugs with pictures from our previous Labor Day in Chicago and suggested places to meet up in the future. A custom mug memento from our Chicago Labor Day get together. We went to Ohiopyle, PA for 2018 Labor Day mainly to do white water rafting.  Not my thing to do but I like to try anything at least once so I decided okay why not.  The town is very small and the picture below is their business district which has only few buildings and a cafe to the left.  Nonetheless we had fun not to mention the house we rented was big enough for eight people. We played card games and some relaxations. We had  a refreshments and cake at the Cafe on the River.  The Pecan pie was delicious! (But my husband s

Dinner on The Bay

We've been to this restaurant once and really liked it. Good food and their all you can eat blue crabs looks good too.    So on a perfect Sunday, we took the short 30   minute ride across the Patapsco with our friends to enjoy the weather, atmosphere, and views.  What's better? The best all you can eat blue crabs!    Scallops wrap with bacon was so delicious!

Birthday Dinner

The Palm Restaurant in DC was the choice for the birthday dinner.  The food was okay and their service was good but they sat us at a small table that looks like it's only for 2 people and there were 4 of us.  So it was sort of tight for 4 people.   I dont mind the price if they make you feel welcome.  But when we got there the host didnt even look at us.  We told him we have a reservation and our name and he never looked up from his computer.  No 'Welcome so and so' and no eye contact.  Not going back there again.
