Stoncada?

Well, in order for us to experience real travel & leisure, we need a way to get around.  So on Super Bowl weekend, we attended the 2015 Baltimore Boat Show.  Here, we looked at many different types of boats.  We had one in mind but wanted to keep our options open.  What size? Type and size of motor? Style? So many questions.  However, the one question that already had an answer is the name of the boat.  One of the vendors was a company that designed boat names.  So that's the picture you see.  Stoncada.  It's a combination of our last names

So as we battle through the long winter days, we continue our due diligence to find our mode of travel.  Once we bring home Stoncada, the adventures will really begin.

Stay tuned...

Labor Day Weekend

SEPT 1, 2018-   White Water Rafting in Ohiopyle, PA For the last couple years we participated with my husband's family in their Labor Day weekend get together.  Each year we take turns to give and recieve mementos.  For 2018 it was our turn to give  and we customised coffee mugs with pictures from our previous Labor Day in Chicago and suggested places to meet up in the future. A custom mug memento from our Chicago Labor Day get together. We went to Ohiopyle, PA for 2018 Labor Day mainly to do white water rafting.  Not my thing to do but I like to try anything at least once so I decided okay why not.  The town is very small and the picture below is their business district which has only few buildings and a cafe to the left.  Nonetheless we had fun not to mention the house we rented was big enough for eight people. We played card games and some relaxations. We had  a refreshments and cake at the Cafe on the River.  The Pecan pie was delicious! (But my husband s

Dinner on The Bay

We've been to this restaurant once and really liked it. Good food and their all you can eat blue crabs looks good too.    So on a perfect Sunday, we took the short 30   minute ride across the Patapsco with our friends to enjoy the weather, atmosphere, and views.  What's better? The best all you can eat blue crabs!    Scallops wrap with bacon was so delicious!

Birthday Dinner

The Palm Restaurant in DC was the choice for the birthday dinner.  The food was okay and their service was good but they sat us at a small table that looks like it's only for 2 people and there were 4 of us.  So it was sort of tight for 4 people.   I dont mind the price if they make you feel welcome.  But when we got there the host didnt even look at us.  We told him we have a reservation and our name and he never looked up from his computer.  No 'Welcome so and so' and no eye contact.  Not going back there again.
